Spring Meetings 2018 Information Overview
Overview
Hosted by NASA, the CCSDS Spring 2018 meeting series will be held in Gaithersburg, Maryland – USA at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The main technical meeting series will be held 9 April – 13 April 2018 and will be followed by the CESG Meeting, which will be held on 16 April 2018. As always, Dress for the Technical Plenary meeting is Business Casual.

The visitor Center, located at Gate A, and Building 101 are the only areas at NIST accessible to visitors. Please display your visitor badge at all time while you are on the NIST campus.
It is requested that all meeting attendees please leave the NIST campus by 18:00.
Directions
NIST is accessible by either Dulles International Airport (IAD) or Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).
Dulles International Airport (IAD):
– NIST is 40 minutes’ drive from IAD;
– Taxi fare from IAD is approximately $70.
Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI):
– NIST is 45 minutes’ drive from BWI;
– Taxi fare from BWI is approximately $90.
For attendees staying in Washington, D.C., Gaithersburg is accessible by Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) trains at the Shady Grove Metro Station, the final stop on Metro’s Red Line. NIST provides a shuttle for visitors to and from the Shady Grove Metro Station. The shuttle operates Monday through Friday from 06:45 to 18:10.
Visitors using Metro can meet the NIST shuttle at the east side of the Shady Grove Metro Station at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The NIST shuttle will stop at “Bus Bay C.” The last NIST shuttle leaves Shady Grove Metro at 18:10.
The shuttle departs from the front of the NIST Administration Building at 5 and 35 minutes past the hour. The last NIST shuttle leaves NIST at 18:00.
The ride between NIST and the Shady Grove Metro Station takes approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

The Holiday Inn Gaithersburg and Hilton Washington DC North/Gaithersburg have each reserved 20 rooms for CCSDS attendees. A special rate has been arranged and a shuttle from the hotels to NIST can also be arranged:

The nightly rate is $125 and includes a full breakfast.
