Fall Meetings 2026 Information Overview

CCSDS Fall 2026 Meetings will be held in-person.

The Italian Space Agency (ASI – Agenzia Spaziale Italiana) will host the CCSDS Fall 2026 Technical Plenary, Common Ground Forum, and Management Meetings in Matera, Italy. The technical meetings will be held from 19–23 October, with management meetings occurring 26–28 October.

Meetings Location

Our working groups and management meetings will take place in the Casa Tecnologie Emergenti di Matera (CTE-Matera) sponsored by the Mayor of Matera. The Opening Plenary will be held at the Gerardo Guerrieri Municipal Cinema‑Theater, located just 250 meters from the CTE.

Travelers Information

Matera is a beautiful small town in southern Italy, located approximately 500 km from Rome. It was named the European Capital of Culture in 2019. Nearby is one of ASI’s operational bases, and the town offers a unique and historic setting for our meetings.

The closest airport is Bari; however, Naples (approximately 3 hours by car) and Rome (approximately 5 hours by car) are also viable options. Train service is available as well, and a timetable for major routes will be shared soon.

Hotel Options

ASI is contacting hotels in Matera to secure comparable rates and potentially reserve room blocks. Additional local logistics—including transportation details and train schedules—will be shared as soon as they are available via both email and on the CCSDS website.

Coffee/Beverages/Lunch

ASI is planning to provide complimentary coffee breaks throughout the meeting period, for lunch, there will be a list of nearby cafes and restaurants will be provided.

Technical Editors Bootcamp

The CCSDS Secretariat will host a Technical Editor Bootcamp in the morning on Wednesday, October 21st. We encourage book editors and members new to CCSDS to sign up online using the meeting registration system.
